Who We Are
How It Began
One By One Ministries began in 2021 with a conversation between founders Courtney and Elijah about Elijah's home village of Miramba, a small fishing village on the shores of Lake Kivu in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo. As they talked about the challenges facing the community, God began stirring their hearts to do something. But as they dreamed about the needs around them, they were also overwhelmed by one simple reality—they couldn't help everyone. In that moment, the Lord reminded them that they didn't have to. They simply needed to follow Him and love people one by one. That became the heart behind both the name and the mission of One By One Ministries.
What started as one conversation has grown into a ministry dedicated to following Jesus, loving people, and serving communities through education, entrepreneurship, and discipleship. From the vision of Unity School to future mentorship programs, Bible studies, and community businesses, every step is about pointing people to Jesus and creating opportunities for lasting change. Their prayer is to raise Christ-centered leaders, strengthen families through biblical discipleship, and equip communities to flourish—one person, one family, and one community at a time.

Led by the Holy Spirit and guided by the Word of God, we are committed to following Jesus, loving people, and serving communities throughout the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and beyond—one by one.
